Geographic Simulation
Please note: The nodes who were researching Geographic Simulation were GeoVUE and MoSeS. You can still find information about them below. These two nodes merged in 2008 to form the new research node GENeSIS.GENeSIS are researching Generative e-Social Science. You can find out more about their research and get a quick introduction to Generative e-Social Science here
You can keep up to date with their latest news and research updates on their website http://www.genesis.ncess.ac.uk
The GeoVUE research node is based at University College London. The GeoVUE research node will provide grid-enabled virtual urban environments (VUEs) within which users are able to link spatial data to geographic information systems (GIS)-related software relevant to a variety of scientific and design problems.
MoSeS is a three year project running at the University of Leeds from September 2005. The objective of the project is to develop representation of the entire UK population as individuals and households, together with a package of modeling tools which allows specific research and policy questions to be addressed.
