This project aimed to improve the effectiveness of decision-making about business policy and local government policy. It achieved this through exploiting the unique strengths of the Grid infrastructure to establish secure communications between data-holders with market knowledge and scientists experienced in the application of analytical techniques that require a high-performance computing infrastructure. The objectives of the project were to:

  • Migrate the process of analysing corporate data from a secure HPC environment, to a secure Grid environment
  • Deliver a Grid-enabled data-mining toolset
  • Establish a grid portal in the Asia-Pacific region
  • Demonstrate model building on real corporate data from global companies through synchronous and asynchronous interaction across the Grid
  • Assess the potential for fusing private and public data models at different levels of aggregation
